Ickworth House 'Real Lives'

Work to re-present the basement service areas of the rotunda at Ickworth House is now on site.  Public access to the basement area of the property has generally been limited to a restaurant and bookshop. These facilities were moved from the basement in 2005, and public access has since been restricted to a small second hand bookshop.  The objective of the ‘real lives’ project, to which R H Partnership were appointed as architects in early 2009, is to re-present the Rotunda basement to the public.

Remodelled Garden Facade

The project added a new open plan living area for the family, two new bedrooms and three additional en suite bathrooms to the house.

BREEAM Excellent Laboratory

We are delighted to announce that the Building Research Establishment have just certified that the
recently completed laboratory building for the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, Oxfordshire, has achieved a BREEAM Environmental Assessment rating of ‘Excellent’.

Typical Research Laboratory Interior
The accommodation provides high grade laboratory space for chemistry and molecular biology,.and includes office spaces and meeting rooms which enjoy views over meadowland to the River Thames.

Funding provided by the Natural Environment Research Council was partly dependent on achieving the highest available BREEAM rating.  R H Partnership rose to the challenge, utilising a list of potential environmental impacts to inform every aspect of the design process from feasibility stage onwards.

Visual of Staithe Street Proposed Elevation

RHP completed a detailed feasibility study, masterplan and business case in conjunction with MPCS earlier this year for the restoration, refurbishment and extension of the Grade II listed Maltings in Wells-next-the-Sea to provide a new community arts centre.

The project is moving forward, the key stakeholders have formed the Wells Maltings Trust to develop local interest and promote use of the existing facilities within the Maltings.  The Trust have agreed a 99 year lease with North Norfolk District Council for the buildings and a full time fundraiser, Becky Jefcoate started on the 1 Nov to drive the project forward, we wish her well and offer our continued support to this exciting community project.
